Dear Year 12,
Congratulations on (almost) completing Year 12 at Shoalhaven High School.
As the Year 12 2016 rollout of DER devices was outside of the initial DER program, the netbooks were only loaned to students not allocation like previous years. The school has decided that you are able to keep your Lenovo X131e Netbook and to have all the filtering and security policies removed.
Student's that do not have a use or wish to keep their DER device, we ask that you return them to the school (even if they are broken) so we can utilise them here for other students.
You are entitled to a "transferable" copy of Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, Microsoft Office 2010 Professional (Student Edition) and Microsoft Anti-Virus. A transferable copy allows you to install the software on another device should you wish to do so E.g. a home computer or laptop.
Below is a list of actions required to be completed by you for the successful Graduation of the Netbook:
1. Backup all important work and user files
2. Fill out the attached Transfer of Ownership form (if under 18 you must have a parent carer signature also)
3. Ensure you will not need the Netbook for 48 hours
4. Hand the Netbook and Transfer of Ownership into the IT office
(The TSO will perform your account registration to minimise confusion through the process, you may also retrieve a copy of your software and the registration keys from the TSO, you will need a thumb drive with a minimum of 8 GB of space.)
Should you have any questions regarding the process, please do not hesitate to ask the schools TSO in the IT office in ‘C' Block.
This process needs to be completed before the end of Term 3 2016.
