FOR ALL HSC STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS/CARERS
IMPORTANT POINTS for the final HSC exams.
Mrs Lyn Jones is the Presiding Officer for the HSC exams, which begin in October, and she and her husband Rob kindly came in to address the HSC cohort in their tutorial period on 29/8/16, about expectations for the HSC exams. The following information provides important details that all HSC students must be aware of, as they prepare for their final exams. If students or parents/carers have any questions, they are welcome to contact Mrs McDonald, the Year 12 Deputy. All students were issued with the' HSC Rules and Procedures' booklet earlier in the HSC year. This details all expectations and rules for the HSC year. It is also available via the BOSTES website, as an online copy.
Timing:
Day one - arrive 30min prior - you must be seated 20min prior.
Subsequent days - arrive 20min prior – To be seated 10min prior.
Finish – As per the exam schedule
Equipment Forbidden in exam room
Any notes, paper, unauthorized material, or any communication device such as a programmable watch, smartwatch, mobile phone, Fit band, IPads, Tablets, MP3 players, pagers or Personal Digital Assistants, (PDAs), CD players or radios. Any clock, watch or other device with a chirp, chime or beep.
Clothing: - Caps, hats or sunglasses are not to be worn in the exam room.
Equipment - Carry all equipment in a clear zip lock bag. No pencil cases or packages etc. You should have black pens, pencil, eraser, sharpener, ruler and highlighters. Make sure you have spares. White out not permitted. You are not allowed to borrow anything from anybody, during exams. It is your responsibility to check and provide the equipment you will need for each exam – eg. approved calculator.
Food - With the exception of water, which must be in a clear, unlabeled bottle, food is not allowed in the exam room.
Personal Details Forms (yellow) - will be distributed on Day 2 English Paper Two. It includes instructions on how to update your personal details. It is your responsibility to ensure they are correct.
Student handbook – Contains all the HSC necessary information. Read carefully and refer to it as required.
