Dear Parent/Carer,
Free vision screening is being offered as part of local community service by Specsavers Nowra for Year 10 and Year 11 students of our school.
Over 80% of what children learn is processed through their eyes. Untreated eye conditions may affect learning and self esteem. Vision screenings can help identify children who may require further eye review and assessment.
The vision screening follows a protocol developed by the Optometry Association of Australia and will be run by optometrists from Specsavers Nowra Central and Specsavers Nowra Stockland. Please note that the vision screening is NOT a full a eye examination.
The vision screening will take between 5-10 minutes and consists of:
(i) Vision clarity check
(ii)Eye muscle coordination/movement test
(iiI)Colour vision test
Vision screening will take place Monday 4th June and Friday 8th June 2018.
The report of the screening results will be distributed by the school at completion of the assessment and/or emailed directly to you. If a vision problem is detected, you will receive a letter recommending that you seek further eye assessment for your child.
