On Monday 4th and Friday 8th June 2018, Specsavers Nowra came to Shoalhaven High School and offered a free vision screening for Year 10 and Year 11 students.
Over 80% of what children learn is processed through their eyes. Untreated eye conditions may affect learning and self-esteem. It is estimated 1 in 4 children in Australia have undetected vision problems. The vision screening followed a protocol developed by the Optometry Association of Australia and was run by optometrists from Specsavers Nowra Central and Specsavers Nowra Stockland. Please note that the vision screening was NOT a full eye examination.
The vision screening consists of:
(i) Vision clarity check
(ii) Eye muscle coordination/movement test
(iiI) Colour vision test
