Dear Parent/Carer,
Representatives from the NSW Department of Education are currently working with our school and are supporting us in strengthening our systems so that we continue to foster a positive school culture and enhance a respectful and inclusive school environment.
On Friday 18 November 2022, they will be conducting a student focus group information gathering where nominated students will have the opportunity to express their views on what they feel is working well, identify areas for improvement and make suggestions for how the school can better support them. The student voice focus groups activity will take 1 period.
Participation in the activity will be voluntary and a student may withdraw at any time. All student responses will remain anonymous, and any general themes identified will be presented back to the school. However, where there are any disclosures that contain a possible risk of harm, the representatives from the department will follow mandatory child protection reporting requirements. Please note that the activity will be conducted onsite by facilitators, however a school staff member will be contactable during the activity.
If you have any questions about the process, or DO NOT want your child to participate please contact Ms Wood – Head Teacher Wellbeing on 02 4421 8022.
Kind regards,
Damian Rees
